Are there any willing canoests out there, to volunteer to canoe in our sponsored swim on 25.09.2011, at Llyn Tegid, Bala? The swim starts at 11.00am.
Many thanks
Sian

Good luck with getting volunteers and good luck withthe swim

Sorry, too far for me to travel, but I have provided kayaka safety cover for open water swimming in triathlons.

Try asking local canoe clubs - see http://www.canoewales.com/north-wales-clubs.aspx There's an email address for Bala Canoe Club.

Actually, you probably want kayaks, rather than canoes, as safety vessels for swimming - general purpose or slalom kayaks are more manoeuverable and more stable, especially when someone grabs hold. A loop or handle at bow and stern is pretty essential for safety cover.
