Lloyds Pharmacy offering 3000 free type 2 tests

I wondered if it used one of those in-house HbA1C machines, that can do a sort of mini-test (average of the past few weeks rather than months) My nurse used one last time. But it's not clear here: https://lloydspharmacy.com/pages/type-2-diabetes-testing Though, as they talk about asking people back for a fasting test, I guess it is just a fingerprick test.

I'm a bit baffled by their follow-up as well. If a random test raises concerns, then surely you go for a proper HbA1C (free, at your GP) rather than a follow up assessment using fasting glucose?
 
I agree, if it looks dodgy they ought to refer you to a doctor. I guess it might be hb1ac - 3000 BG strips is hardly a significant investment if not,
