Finding out you have Type 1 Diabetes is a life-altering experience.‬

‪However, it doesn't have to be a negative one.‬

‪For Kayla Brown, sharing her story has been a very rewarding experience, and one that has brought about many opportunities.‬

‪"When I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes I decided to take a positive spin on it," she said. "It makes you realize how fragile life is and how things can change in an instant."‬

‪First diagnosed in 2009, the recent Western graduate did not stay down long. Instantly she began to blog about her experience, something which served as a therapeutic device for her and an informative source for family and friends. The blog, Kayla's Life Notes, is an example of how one young woman is able to reach out to others with Type 1 Diabetes, their friends and family members.‬
