Ok, I love living in Spain, don't get me wrong, but I can't seem to stop these horrible heat-induced hypos! It's getting ridiculous now. They occur daily, usually more than once! I've changed my ratios, tried eating more food (not ideal, but something's got to give!) Up next, reducing the basal! And we're not even in the height of summer yet!

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

I would reduce basal.
If you like we can swop places. It's freezing here.

Persil on hols - eg tenerife 25/27 temp we went from 9 to 6 lantus on the day of arrival and meals were usually 1-15 1-12 1-16 all changed to1-20 and that worked us -wish we were there im jealous!

I'd forgotten there are such things as heat-induced hypos 😉 When my son gets a spate of hypos like that, we have to reduce his basals across the board (and change his correction factor to give smaller corrections too), and let him have a day or two of higher BGs (by which I mean target 6-10 instead of 4-8).

Knock back the long acting by 10% & maybe til that's sorted do reduced fast acting

Enjoy the heat!

Haha, I'm alright thanks, pgcity. Not bored of living the Spanish life yet 😉 only got six weeks left! Can't believe my year abroad's coming to an end already!

I've reduced basal this evening by 2u to see what that does. I've altered my Novorapid already, so changing basal dose has got to do something (please!!)

Thanks, Laura. It's suddenly got hot here. Good excuse to go shopping for my summer wardrobe 😉

Now that's just not fair, can you send some heat here?

Please remember that we can not give medical advice - only give thoughts on what we would do in a situation.

Vicki glad to see that you are enjoying your time in Spain.
