I just the other day made liver and bacon for the first time since dx in 2000. I wanted to see if it works without the potato I used to add, and I think it does. 🙂

500g liver (any type)
500g or 1Kg bacon (cheap cooking bacon is fine)
1 or 2 large onions, sliced or chopped
2tsp paprika
2tsp garlic
(There should be no need for salt as the bacon usually has plenty.)

Sling everything into a slow cooker, add enough water to cover, and cook on high/medium for 4 hours minimum or (preferably) on low for 8 hours minimum. Serve on its own or with green veggies.

We have lambs liver, onion and mash at least once a month and everybody looks forward to it. We even have it on holiday on Gozo as its loved on the island along with rabbit would you believe!

LOL about Gozo.

On that neighbouring rock in the sea with an airport, they also have eg. the Victoria Hotel (or is that one Gozo?), G-Plan furniture, Vono beds, Boots The Chemist and pubs with names like the Wagon & Horses.

Not that all the years of British Servicemen being there have had any lasting effect of course ...........

TW, have only travelled thro Malta to the ferry port for Gozo, but yes all of that plus driving on the propper side of the road. We have made friends with many Gozitians including Father John a retired Monsignior who loves Fools and Horses, Mrs Bucket etc but we had to explain Dads Army to him but we are taking a boxed set with us this year so he can appreciate the antics of Capt Mainwaring etc.

Ah well, you've seen most of Malta then LOL

After we went somewhere and it turned out they'd moved 'a long, long way away from here' but the chap gave us directions and it turned out to be not much more than a mile and a half, we got to discussing this.

We lived in Kidderminster, our friends lived in Redditch. We all worked in Birmingham. It struck us that if we started at any point on Malta and did the distance we each did one way to work - we'd be in the sea ........ :D

Not quite as 'stir crazy' inducing as certain Maldivian atolls, cos there's actually quite a lot of different things and scenery on that rock - but a fortnight was enough for me. The people are indeed lovely; but at the time the PLO maintained their office just up the road from where we were staying and it was smack opposite the main telephone exchange. I found that a bit unsettling .........

Only went to Gozo for the day but certainly much better sand beaches, and the colour was stunning.
