Little bit of weight gain?

So after being so good for so many weeks on the Pathway to Remission diet, had a poor weekend and seemed to have gained some weight! (0.7kg).
I know that weight fluctuates anyway, but its the first time that I've actually put weight on I think since starting the diet, so a bit disappointing. But I know why.... I've eaten too much over the weekend, Doh!

Saturday I went out to do one of my hobbies, and forgot to take my usual TDR meal with me, so ended up eating a supermarket snack bar, a sort of snack pouch thing and some nuts and grapes, too many nuts and grapes, upping my calories.
On Sunday my wife, who has also been on her own version of the diet, bought a chicken and cooked it. And I succumbed and had some too, along with a side salad and again, too many nuts and grapes, upping my calories again!

Plus the Wife has had a rotten cold, and I think I've had a bit of a sniffle too, so done zero exercise really all weekend other than the usual walking around, so that will not have helped either as I do try to do a good 15mins every day.

Not a disaster I know, and I'm not going to beat myself up over it, but its just disappointing knowing I have been so good, just to let myself slip that little bit.

@pjgtech - the grapes might be the culprit - high carb from the sugar, and you store water along with sugars, as they need to be diluted down to be safe to store in a biological system.
I have never found calories to be the problem - and reducing them right down recently just did not work as advertised.
Low carb kept me at just the top end of normal - or at the bottom edge of prediabetes depending on your outlook on such things.
Over the years I have developed a few rules - one, if there is nothing safe to eat, just don't eat, and two, don't repeat a mistake, particularly not on two days running. They are not hard and fast rules, and I did just make them up out of 7 years experience of remission, but they seem to work.
Just for added irony, I seem to be losing weight now I am back to my normal diet. I am sure I lost some weight on the shakes, as none of my trousers would stay up, but now people are noticing that I am thinner, plus I planned on making some new clothes and am now finding that I need to remeasure and alter the paper patterns I was just about to cut out in fabric.

dont beat yourself up we are all allowed to stray from the pathway so you had a treat or two its ok just start again and good luck

Yep, should have said upped my calories and carbs (not just calories!) :thankyou:

I think as long as you know why it has happened, it is not something to get too concerned about. If you had been sticking to your regime and gained weight then that would have been a bit of a kick in the teeth.
Don't lose sight of how well you have done so far. This is a very minor blip in an otherwise exemplary effort on your part and I am sure everyone who does the program has such blips, so get yourself back on the wagon and continue that journey. You are doing really great, so put this behind you and move forward.

And today is a new week so onwards and downwards!
