LipoScience Inc. (LPDX: Quote) Sunday announced the presentation of data at the 73rd Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association from June 21-25 in Chicago, Ill.
During a poster presented today, researchers from Duke University Medical Center demonstrate that the novel Lipoprotein Insulin Resistance score (LP-IR), which was developed by LipoScience, is a potentially clinically useful and convenient index of insulin resistance.
"Insulin resistance is accompanied by alterations in lipoprotein metabolism that result in distinct changes in the lipoprotein profile detected by NMR," explained lead investigator William Kraus, Professor of Cardiology at Duke University and an author of the study.
