@gossamersquare. It varies according to the individual. Meds like Linagliptin and Sitagliptin work by persuading the body to produce more insulin so it all depends on your pancreas. Some folk can still produce decent amounts, others can't, and you also have to factor in the individual's level of insulin resistance as well. Which all means the only way to find out is to try it. Are you able to test your blood glucose levels so you can see what's happening?
Hi Alison, yes I am able to test. Am going to start them tomorrow so will start testing tomorrow even if it takes a few days to start working, at least I will have a base line to see how it is going. Thanks for the explanation as well as dont now anything about those sort of meds x
I started on them in January this year, my consultants explanation was very similar to alisons post above. they are working well for me and started taking effect within 24 hours, good luck with them. Al
