Lifeguarding with Type 1 Diabetes

Hi, I am a lifeguard but have had to stop temporarily since been diagnosed with Type 1. In the journey going back to lifeguarding and doing the work, how does one cope with checking their glucose levels often on poolside and keeping their levels normal? I have a libre, but it’s the law to not have your phone on your person while lifeguarding…are there ways around this?

Welcome @Izzyyyyyy 🙂 Could you use the Libre reader? You’re entitled to Reasonable Adjustments as Type 1 is covered by the Disability Discrimination Act.
