Hi All, I have some of lidls pork meatballs and have a query re carb values. The pack say 8g per 100g but when I scanned the barcode using nutracheck it says 100g = 11g.
Which is correct??20230424_183019.jpg

The answer probably lies somewhere in between. Carb counts are a bit like meter readings, we get hung up on the decimal points, which gives us a sense of great accuracy, whereas they're not that accurate at all.
I read a study that evaluated some ready meals, I can’t find the reference now, but they were quite varied in their accuracy, because of the uneven mixing of the ingredients.

go by the packet

I would be inclined to take these figures as a guide. I doubt that anyone, including the manufacturer, is measuring the carbohydrates but are calculating the carbs based on the amount of each ingredient in the recipe and some database of carb values for various ingredients. The actual value will depend on variations in the recipe ratios and variations in the raw ingredients.
I would go with the packet data unless Nutracheck explain how they came up with their figures.

Someone copies them in from the packet (or some database perhaps but intention is to match the packet). When they change they’re updated but can be a lag time, users can update them to copy in new info

Nutracheck is whatever anyone wants to write.
Lidl is a supposedly reasonable estimate.
Both can be wrong.

Thank you Lucy , I didn't know that , I have now updated the value in my nutracheck app.
