I have been scanning my Libre link 2 sensor with a reader but now as my sight is failing I need to be able to use a mobile phone that will scan and then verbalise the readings. I do not know whether an iphone or android mobile would be best, taking into account what other sight assisted features are available to these phone. Would be grateful for any advice.

I use an Android phone although I'm not visually impaired but from online I've seen a lot more mention issues with the app on iPhone's

As far as I'm aware there are no specialised sight assisted features on either operating systems but all phones should allow zoom of web pages, altering font sizes of text etc xx

I have not tried it but xDrip+ provides voice read outs and responds to voice commands.
I use xDrip+ instead of LibreLink with my Libre 2 to convert it to a CGM so no need to scan. Unlike Libre 1, this is possible without any add one.

However, xDrip+ is a techy tool developed by techies for techies and is not an official tool.
xDrip+ works on Android.
There is an xDripiOS for Apple but I have no idea whether it supports voice.

I have also read that some clever techies have integrated their Libre set up with Alexa or Siri which maybe worth Googling for.

@helli the LibreLink app does provide spoken readings if you set it to do so just in case you weren't aware of that xx

iPhone is very easy to set to read aloud the readings, it’s just in the menu
