Hi everyone, I’ve had a strange event with my phone and the libre2 sensor I had started a couple of days ago which had been working fine until when I scanned it I got an error message to scan again, tried it at least 10-15 times and just the same message came up.
Mrs tried it with her phone and she got the scan again in 10 mins message, she tried several times without success so I tried the reader and nothing out of it either so I was convinced the sensor had an issue so I stuck a new one on and tried to start it with the phone, absolutely nothing, now the phone can’t find the sensor at all, I tried all the usual tricks, phone restart, deleted the app and reinstalled it, eventually I started the sensor with the reader (I hate the Reader with a passion) and no problems except the lack of an audible alarm (why I have the hatred lol). I checked the Apple forums and since February this year there has been a lot of failures reported with iPhones and Libre2, with Apple and Abbott blaming each other.
I was wondering if anyone here had experienced any thing like this

Hi @Paulbreen. I had issues with libre 2 and iPhone 7 in January. Same problem with reader and phone and added to it alarms going off constantly to say loss signal despite it been right near it. Abbot “said” sort of there was a batch that were causing issues and replaced 3 sensors.

The current sensor late last week said scan in 10 then scan again for about 90 minutes lost some data then had been ok since

I now always start with reader then phone. I’ve not started with phone sas it’s such a faff if it doesn’t work. Only issue with reader is the “battery” life and need to charge every 2/3 days. Alarms ok on vibrate I hear it on bedside at night and feel it during the day on pocket.

I used the issues as a good excuse to get new iPhone 12. I read somewhere about iPhone update and upsetting blue tooth and or NFC.
Stating obvious have to checked bluetooth and turned off auto updates on other apps as that apparently upsets it too.

My iPhone 12 works fine with the Libre. I use the reader to fire up the sensor, because I can hear the alarms , particularly the out of range one, if I accidentally leave the reader on my desk while going to answer the door. It’s a pain, to be honest, it goes off if the pocket I’ve got the reader in is opposite the arm where the sensor is. My body must work as a Faraday Cage. Why @Paulbreen can’t switch on the sounds on the reader’s alarms, I don’t know. I know it’s made in China, but the controls aren’t in Chinese.

You need a hat with a pocket in it...have you managed to resolve the problem?

Check nfc is turned on.

Everything is fine with the phone, I have used it for almost 4 years with libre and libre2.
it’s not possible to turn off NFC on an iphone as far as I know, new one ordered and the old one is on eBay lol

Under the settings,and then connections.
iPhone doesn’t have a connections option, the NFC function seems to be permanently on, I posed that question on an Apple forum so I’ll maybe get an answer which I’ll post
New shiny iPhone 12 will be here in the morning so there’s an upside and it’s free because I was due an upgrade since 6 months ago as it turns out

See libre 2 = a good excuse to get new iPhone !

Well Bexlee, I’ve used the Libre2 for almost 2 years with not many issues, the iPhone is an 8 so I’m sure a new one is overdue, I use RFID chips at work and the phone stopped reading them too but I am worried about the failure as there are quite a lot of people reporting the same issue on the Apple forum and with Abbott and Apple blaming each other.
