Hi, I'm sorry if this has been asked before and I just haven't found it. I've had a few sensors come off when I've caught them on a car seatbelt, or my bra strap, or a door plate. Luckily it's pretty rare, but I want to start using a cover over the sensor.
There seem to be loads of different ones available to buy. Can anyone recommend a particular brand which works well for them please? Does Diabetes UK recommend a particular one, or sell them? I want plain flesh-coloured ones if possible. Thanks a lot.

Hi, I started using the watch face type arm strap. It wasn't branded and I got it off ebay and there was a range of colours both for the watch face and the strap but a neutral pinkish colour was one of the options for if you are white. I didn't look at the options for darker coloured skin as they were not of interest to be. Personally I preferred to be bright and bold and went for black and neon green. If I am going out dressed then I don't wear it.... and just leave the sensor as "Abbott intended"....ie naked.

When I first got my arm strap I used it 24/7 and I was certainly impressed with how much it took the strain when it caught and pinged on things but my Libre stayed securely in place. It also acts as a visual reminder when I am in the shower as to which arm my Libre is on and to go carefully scrubbing that arm with my exfoliating/wash gloves.
That said, just recently I have stopped wearing it for the full duration of the sensor. I wear it 24/7 for the first few days and this seems to really help improve the adhesion of the sensor, then I just put it on in the shower to remind me and take it off after I have dried myself off afterwards. This is working well for me now and not leaving a permanent slight indentation on myare as I was finding happened with wearing it the full 2 weeks..... not that it was tight but there was a noticeable imprint around my bicep and of course a tan line in the summer. Whether I am now just more careful with my Libre or have started placing them in a slightly less vulnerable place further towards the back of my arm or the improved adhesion resulting from a couple of days of arm band use at the start, I don't know, but I feel more confident of my Libre being secure with this current more limited arm strap use without having much real drawback to it.

Thanks so much for your very informative reply Barbara. This is very helpful. I saw the watchstrap sensor covers advertised but was worried about how one would attach them or whether they are elasticated - I would not be keen to have them pressing on my arm all the time. You've answered all my questions about them but I think I would go with a stick-on patch, so would welcome advice about which ones people find satisfactory. Thanks again!
