Hi
As a new T1 (6 months) the only CGM I have used so far is the Libre2 and now Libre2 plus. I am starting to realise how inaccurate it can be sometimes (via finger pricks).

I have been told that Dexcom is more accurate?

Do people agree with that? Is that what people have experienced?

Is Dexcom funded by the NHS for T1s in the same way as Libre?

It would be great to hear what others think.
Thanks

None of them are 100% accurate because they aren’t reading blood. Even blood testing machines have a fairly wide margin of error and only have to be within something like 15% of the true reading, only 95% of the time.

I’ve no knowledge of the Libre plus but I did find the Dexcom 1+ more accurate than the Libre 2. I’m t2 and self fund so cost and accuracy is important to me. I’ve only experienced 1 erratic Dexcom sensor out of nine used. I found the Libre to be very accurate in the middle ranges but very erroneous at high/lows.
Don’t think we can use sensors and meters and expect them to be 100% accurate. I use mine as a guide to help with my low carbing/control.
Best wishes

The Libre has been very accurate from the start, for me (I do agree with @Taighnamona though, that it’s less accurate at high levels). I am currently trialling the Dexcom One+, to see if I can get on with it, just in case my surgery try to swap me on to it (some surgery groups have been offered a deal by Dexcom, apparently, if they move their patients over from the Libre). I’ve always used the reader for the Libre, but i’m using my phone with the Dexcom, and have had teething problems with it.
I ran my first Dexcom in tandem with the last couple of days of the Libre, and they were both very much in the same range. Sometimes the actual readings were a little bit different. but the shape of the graphs was very much the same. Then after 6 days, the Dexcom failed. First the Bluetooth dropped out, I managed to reconnect it, but a few hours later, I got 'reading temporarily unavailable' alternating with a ridiculously low figure, for the next 12 hours, after which I called Dexcom and they sent a replacement.
I now have the replacement Dexcom One + on, and having used a libre in between times, I ran them both together for a day to overlap. and again found them broadly similar, Three days in, I lost blue tooth connection overnight, but managed to reconnect this morning. (I’d switched off alarms overnight, no way am I prepared to wake up, and wake partner up, and have to fiddle with settings, and turn my phone off and on again, in the middle of the night when I need to be asleep).
I'm planning to overlap the Dexcom with my new Libre for a day at the end, to see how they compare, if I get that far with the Dexcom this time.

I found dexcom g6 a massive improvement on libre 2.
Though the g6 is not an automatic nhs entitlement.

Dexcom One+ was mentioned at my last DSN review as a possible alternative to Libre 2+ so I'm guessing the funding implications are very similar but I'm happy to stick with what I've got for now (I get readings even on lock screen of phone (using Juggluco) and on my smartwatch too, and to change over would be a bit of a faff) - I'd imagine the accuracies must be similar or they wouldn't have approved the Dexcom One+ as well - I've found the Libre 2+ to be largely accurate compared to finger prick readings until the last couple of days left on the sensor, when it often reports ridiculously low readings - I have sent 2 of my last 4 back to Abbott with just a couple of days to go and they have always replaced them with no issues

The G7 is hugely more accurate than the Libre 2 for me. I was lucky to get it though.

Have used G7 then One+. Trialled Libre, not one of the three I received worked properly and as a self funded it was very important to me. Both the Dexcom have been very accurate.

Ok so ive only been using CGM since middle July,
currently I’m lucky enough to get the Libra2Plus on prescription, as this is the preferred system according to I’m not sure who (it was either GP or the DSN)
I tried both systems and as I had been declined for CGM funded by NHS
I thought I was going to need to self-fund, and if I was would’ve chosen the DexcomOne+ which I thought (from my experience) more reliable, plus sightly cheaper
