i am planning to take a spare sensor with me on holiday, but wondering whether it will cope with going through an X-ray?

It won’t be a problem. Don’t use the reader on the plane, say Abbott. If you need to check, use a strip with the reader, and only switch it on by inserting the strip, not by using the home button. That’s their advice. I guess it’s because of the ‘radio’ signal between the sensor and the reader.

I've had my spare sensor x-rayed at the airport, they've always been fine.

Oh. I haven’t noticed that advice before. I have used my Libre in place of Handset during flights before, and working out Bolus for meals, to avoid using the Bluetooth whee this is not allowed. I am flying with EasyJet and they are happy for Bluetooth to be used apart from during takeoff and landing so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Thanks Robin. My hand luggage is loaded with cannulas, spare pump, Libre sensor, pens, test kit, ... It is a good job EasyJet allow an extra cabin bag for medical stuff. Looking forward to building a snowman and making snow angels in the cold weather of the Dolomites.

OOh, I love the Dolomites. We went to Selva a couple of years ago, but in the summer for walking, and we're going again this year!
