Libre sensor

I use the libre and love it, have always found it to be accurate personally. I've seen reports of allergies, inaccuracies and various other things but the only way you'll know if it works well for you is to give it a go 🙂

Oh is it not good then? I have heard good and bad.

It seems not to work well for some people.

Personally I think it's wonderful. It seems accurate for the 14 days (compared to test strips, which also have an error rate), it shows what happens overnight and during other times when I don't scan (though I also scan at night sometimes, just because it's much more convenient to do so), and every scan shows not just the current reading but also the graph giving a broader indication of what's happening.

OK thank you I will give it a go and see how I get on ☺

I've been using Libre off and on for years and have consistently had very good levels of accuracy and performance from them. Almost all sensors have performed well, and the handful (3 or 4?) that haven't have been replaced free of charge. They stick well to my arm and last the full 14 days. The ability to scan with a compatible smartphone is an added bonus now too.

They appear not to work for everyone, but I don't think any piece of tech does really. They work great for me.

I am supposed to be getting them on prescription later in the year, but I haven't heard about that in November/December so should chase that up!

Hi Mike I use injections at the moment and a accu chek meter. Thank you for the info ☺

The thing is don't go by what everyone else says, try it yourself, nothing beats first hand experience.

Just like owt else you will find teething issues at start, but persevere dont be deterred, nearly give up on it myself but kept with it after software issue was found to be reason for inaccuracy.

I must say I totally agree.

I have used the Libre for a couple of years now and I am hooked, I would hate to be without all the extra info it provides . However nothing is perfect I’ve had the odd dodgy sensor, mostly mine are within 2.0 of a fingerpick , because they sample interstitial fluid rather than blood there is a delay 10-15 minutes when glucose reaches the fluid so it’s not a good idea to use the Libre’s results to treat a hypo , but i find it helps to see which direction it’s going. I’ve knocked a couple off, I now tend to go through doorways slightly sideways :D.
It’s helped me improve my control no end , helps with basal testing so no setting an alarm for silly o’clock to do fingerpicks , oh I could go on and on.

Others here have found they don’t work well for them at all

Strangely, I didn’t get on with it at first, but would struggle if I didn’t have it now. It gave me back my confidence around exercising. I LOVE not having to prick my finger constantly and no longer being riddled with BG anxiety. Give it a go!🙂

Hi I will and thank you ☺

I work in a very stressful and unhygienic environment and found the Libre to be great. Sadly though I'm currently without sensors for at least a fortnight because there's a production issue.

I was using the accuchek meter, which is a great meter, especially with the mobile blutooth connector, but the feeling of going to Libre was a complete life changer. I still use the Accucheck for high/lows but in between I only use the Libre. Personally I love it
