I’ve just made a telephone order for 6 sensors, and I asked about the shortage in the UK and Ireland that is noted on their website.

That shortage has been sorted, and my delivery will be made as usual in the next 5-7 days.

Sighs of relief all round.🙂

Get your orders in, folks.:D

I ordered mine on line yesterday morning. They'd been dispatched by yesterday afternoon.

Typical Abbott website guff then. In sure it’s designed and run by a teenage work experience character.

Oh well.🙄

Thanks for that Mike. I also put in my order yesterday. Unusually for me I'm just about to use my last sensor without a spare so I hope that the new ones do arrive soon 🙂

I hope I get mine soon, i ordered the starter pack on december 13th and the order is still on hold, however i am taking part in the libre research study and go on the 16th january to have one fitted on each arm for two weeks.

I got an email yesterday evening to say that my sensors have been dispatched.

My libre starter pack has been dispatched after being on hold since mid December ☺. I also go to hospital on Tuesday next week to be part of the libre research, so will have one on each arm for two weeks Looking forward to it

That sounds interesting Flo.
Are they comparing the performance of the two sensors, using two readers?

Yes they will be comparing the perfomance of each sensor with two readers . I will have to do a reading on each arm within a minute of each other at certain times.

It is an hour appointment to explain it all and fitting them , and then exactly two weeks I go back for the final appointment. I will know more on Tuesday.

I could have gone last year but I find it hard to get to hospital as I am full time carer for my 16 yr old son( he is home full time)but my control has gone hay wire so thought I really should make the effort to get some control back.

They will also see if my basal needs tweaking etc once the results are on the computer. I may keep funding the libre sensors after my trial and after using my own two sensors.

Has anyone experienced any more problems since the previous post on this thread? I ordered two on Friday and my order status is 'on hold' - my current one runs out tomorrow... :(

Yes I ordered 4 sensors on 14th January, the order status was On Hold for a week and then it changed to "Created - Delivery within 5-7 days". I got them on the 25th, 11 days after ordering. I always order when I've still got at least 2 left though, just in case there are problems. It said on the website there might be a delay of up to 2 weeks so I thought I'd give them that long before phoning them, and got them within the 2 weeks.

Thanks for your reply 🙂 seems I need to start a system involving a spare or two!

I unfortunately had a sensor fall out as soon as I had put it in, as there was no sticky on the pad. I then had to use my last sensor a fortnight early and now there is a delay in them sending their replacement. They have told me that they have no stock at present and it will be at least a week before anymore comein. I am looking at least a week without sensors. It will no doubt remind me how useful they are when I am playing badminton, doing Pilates, ... I just hope that I have one ready for my forthcoming walking holiday.

I shall make sure that I am as organised as Sally in the future.

Mine is on hold too, very frustrating. A consultant on the board of our local CCG told me that Abbott had made assurances that they would be able to cope with additional demand, obviously not 😡

The upside is that my new ones have a use by date of November 2018 - maybe we will no longer have the problem of receiving sensors which are so close to their use by date that you can't use them all in time!

Believe it or not I'm not naturally a very organised person at all, but when it comes to my daughter's medical supplies I'm so terrified of running out of anything that I always try to reorder when I've still got at least 1-2 months worth in stock. That includes sensors, test strips, insulin, pump consumables etc etc. In fact insulin I normally have anything up to 5 months worth in my fridge at any time... 😱

I very much doubt this has anything to with NHS approval of sensors from what I have read very few people are managing to get them prescribed.

Thought I’d give this update.
I’ve just ordered some new sensors. They are still limiting us to two sensors every 25 days with free postage and their online shop is still closed to new members , I don’t know if new members can shop by telephone.
Lucky for me I’ve just applied a new one and have two left.

I had an email a couple of days after I'd ordered my latest two ( end of March) saying there would be a three week delay, but in fact they arrived within two weeks.

The message for about the last week they are not taking new customers they want you to register and will email when available.
I think for a multinational company they would have sorted themselves out.
