Hi there, Libre-users.🙂 Has anyone ordered new sensors in the last few weeks? I'd like to know the current 'use by date' they're selling before I order.:D Ta x

I am away at present so do not have the info available.
I do know there was a glitch quite a while ago but Abbott sorted it out and replaced sensors that I could not have used without any problem (so long as you phone and don't try emailing!)

I ordered some a couple of days ago so when they come I will let you know! 🙂

I ordered some about 3-4 weeks ago the exp date is 31/8/

Stock rotation seems to be slightly hit and miss. The last time I ordered a few of us on here compared expiry dates on recent orders and there was quite a variation. I normally only order 2 at a time though. Free delivery as well. They keep sending codes for free delivery that have use by dates. Last time I ordered I put the latest code in that was out of date and waited with it in my basket. Lo and behold next day got an email 'did you have a problem with your order?', 'here's a free delivery code anyway.' Sorted. :D

I'm just testing how long after the use by date they stay accurate. I'm up to a month, so far. Absolutely fine. The reader has no idea what the use by date is. I'm challenging the concept that a sealed system based on microelectronics suddenly goes bad on a certain date. When I've found the safe limit, I'll let you all know. (I'm checking against fingerpricks, admittedly on the reader, but not being a conspiracy theorist, I'm taking those as accurate).

My guess is the real limit is around three months after the end date, and they are taking an ultra cautious stance.

Do not try this at home, I used to be a doctor, so I'm mad enough to try it in the interest of humanity and the public purse. (And can afford it)

Interesting to know, thank you Mike 🙂 Interestingly, and not entirely unrelated, I have used test strips in the meter that are over a year past their use by date and readings are fine.

I had a sensor on the way already and then Abbott sent a replacement for the 'faulty/wonky' one. The first one is dated 30/09/2017 and the replacement one that arrived a few days later is 30/11/2017. It does seem a bit random and inconsistant with which ones you get, but I was just relieved they were both longer dates so I have time to feel ready to hopefully use them again.

I am not user but these short and inconsistent expire dates for a multi national company are not good.

I changed my sensor for another out of date one yesterday. The first result it gave me was 2.5. That was certainly accurate:confused:. And it's still working fine.

My 2 sensors arrived yesterday - both had use by dates of 30th September 2017 x
