I just asked my diabetic nurse and she said that Portsmouth aren't funding the libre. :( Oh well.

She did say I might be able to get it in West Sussex where I live (because Portsmouth fund my pump). But I doubt it. The reason I went to Portsmouth was because West Sussex wouldn't give me the pump. And if they weren't doing the pump, you think they are going to be doing the libre?

I was hoping, with me trying for a baby, it might make a difference. Oh well. :(

I also asked my nurse today and was told the same, also the next nearest health authority won't fund it either, I wonder which, if any will.

Mine already offer the reader and 1 sensor - or at least when I started on MDI the DSN mentioned it. Not seen them since though, but still waiting for consultant appt, (should see him every 3 months and it's been a year now...:() so I'll see what he says.

I was going to be asking my consultant on Tuesday if there were any trials in my area so I will also be asking if they will be prescribing them here x

The announcement was only made this week, so decisions haven't yet been made locally as to whether it will be available. @Amberzak - they won't have made any decision yet so your DSN will be right in saying that it is not funded in your area, however it will not be available anywhere until November 2017 at the earliest so it is likely that your local area won't yet have considered it.
We do know that it may not be available everywhere - so are driving the fight to put pressure on local decision makers to make those decisions.

As with specific Blood Glucose monitors however, even if Flash was not available in your area, your GP/Consultant could still put pressure on your local CCG to provide the technology in certain circumstances, if it met your clinical need. As it is now available on the NHS tariff, it could, in some cases, be provided for those who need it.
