Just applied a new sensor and it's a 'bleeder' 😱 I'm sure others have had this happen, although it's the first time for me. Any feedback on whether I should expect normal operation and accuracy of readings? TIA 🙂

answered you on FB lol xx

I had one of those. It was rubbish for a day or so but then settled down.

I have had a couple of these, but it does not seem to have any negative impact on the performance of the sensor. I seem to remember that some have suggested that they had greater reliability after a bleeder.

I'll have an idea in 7 minutes 😱 🙂 I asked on FB also and the consensus there seems to be that they work better, so hopefully that will be the case (after 3 returns in 3 months :( )

First reading not looking great - 3.3 scan versus 7.6 blood test (with 7.9 on Contour Next) :(

It's been 9 minutes! :D xx

I have had a few gushers. One worked brilliantly from the start, the one where I bled like a stuck pig took 2days to recover then worked very well the other one was only useful for direction of travel.
I hope yours turns out to be a gud un.

I had one, caused by an experiment: I tried applying it on more on the inside of my arm (not (I hope) in the muscle, just more or less on the back of my arm) in the hope that it would stick out less.

It worked fine, but I removed it early because it hurt too much, and I had a nasty looking bruise for a while.

‘Bleeders are readers’ as some say! Hope it’s a good one for you!

The jury is still out, it may end up in the Supreme Court. I almost took it off yesterday as it wouldn't go above the mid-3s - it was around 3 mmol/l below blood readings, soooo disappointing :( Only one slight dip into the red overnight though, and woke to 5.0, and it has been more in line with my recent patterns, albeit a little on the low side still. I can live with it being a little low, but hate it when it keeps telling me I'm hypo when I'm nowhere near! 😡

Agree! It impairs the (very useful!) averages and reporting over longer periods. I also find it very hard to leave these ‘calibration hypos’ untreated 🙄

Indeed - my 90-day stats have been totally ruined by a bad sensor I had that read so low it was practically in the infrared :( Currently suggesting I have had 71 hypos in the past 90 days, but only 4 in the past 30 days, not counting yesterday 🙄 You ought to be able to mark a sensor as 'failed' and it would then exclude those figures 🙂

That would be very handy!

That would be very handy. In the past, my HbA1c has always come out higher than predicted by the Libre, for that reason. Since the software upgrade though, I'm finding it's generally not reading so low at the bottom end, so it'll be interesting to see what this years HbA1c is, compared with the Libre prediction. I’ve just made my review appointment, but it’s not for a month.
