Hi I have had this for three days now but I am now concerned as to how accurate these are I have had to
Fast for a blood test I woke to 16.6 I had turned my pump down as I normally hypo at night but I took a finger prick test and that was 7.7 as I have hypo unawareness I feel the finger prick test could be more accurate I am on going to keep a close eye on both any one else use both please quite worrying it is a huge difference

You should always go by a finger prick test, sometimes they can have inaccuracies in which case if it continues like this then you'd ideally want to report it and they should issue a replacement, there are some that 100% trust and rely on the Libre however I still finger prick when I'm testing for meals as even 1mmol can make the difference of how much insulin to take and they also recommend you use finger pricks when low/high, recovering from a low and even during times of illness, just keep comparing and report if need be xx

Both Libre and BG monitors have the potential to offer results which do not accurately reflect your BG at the time, so the handbooks of the devices always say that you should always recheck or confirm with another device if results don’t match how you are feeling.

If your libre sensor has been offering results that are all significantly different from your BG fingersticks you should contact Abbott who can troubleshoot the sensor and will replace it if it is faulty and not providing results within expected limits
