Quick question, is the libre supposed to sting? I applied a new one this morning but it’s almost as if I am being pinched every 15 minutes. Also getting pins and needles/tingling in my fingers and palm of the same arm.
Will it settle down or do I need to replace it?
It feels like I may have hit a nerve or something, especially with the recent ill health and weight loss, there’s not much flesh on the back of my upper arm.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Ouch! That sounds unusual @LittleSunflower

I’ve had one or two sensors over the years which have felt a bit stabby for a day or two before settling down, but this sounds more significant.

I would give Abbott a call to chat it through with them.

My last sensor felt like it was catching on something, then it would be Ok for hours, but was applied a bit further away from the back of my arm than before. I am often aware of other sensors, nothing like your problems.

Possibly related to sensor site, but pins and needles sounds quite different, whatever the site. I would also phone Abbott. I might consider removal and use finger pricking until Abbott can advise, before applying to a new site.

Yes, i have had one that pinched like that for a day or two quite recently but it did eventually settle down and it worked fine despite the initial discomfort. Hope yours settles down soon too.

I phoned Abbott this morning as I still have a slight discomfort in the area it’s in and in my arm. They said to remove it as it shouldn’t cause discomfort/irritation and to apply a new one.

My last one occasionally caused slight pain and I realised I had placed it on a less fleshy part of my arm and it was effectively prodding the bone.

Since they have advised you to remove it, are they also going to replace it??

Thank you for commenting this, it’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one.
This is what I think caused my pain. I’ve lost a fair amount of weight and currently at my lowest. Definitely less flesh on the back of my arm, not that there was much in the first place.

Update; before I removed it, it gave the error reading message for over an hour and then completely stopped working. I took it off to find the filament completely bent! No wonder my arm has been so sore. I knew something wasn’t right from the moment it was applied.
