Well I’m before you all with my tail between my legs after using the libre 2 for a year and having great stress with the alarms or lack of them I dug one out as I haven’t use them for a good year or more, now I did not use the reader in the past I just used the phone app when I was using them, in fact the reader was still sealed in its box and once set up correctly the alarms do work if the reader is near you. This is what I was expecting from the libre 2 so yes it is a great improvement over the one.
I have so far not managed to get it working with my phone app yet but I have another week to keep trying so if I get it going I will post it here
SORRY I DOUBTED YOU LIBRE 2
Update
I had a play and deleted the LibreLink app and downloaded the new version and the alarms are working with the current version. You must start the sensor with the phone to get phone alarms according to the Abbott blurb
My apologies if I mislead anyone in my older posts, I was using libre2 with my phone only and older versions of the LibreLink app did not support the alarms.
For everyone waiting for the 2 it’s definitely going to help you more than the 1 did
