Looking for some info.
My Libre 2 reader has some tap screen issues. I contacted Abbotts who said they had no stock and I should ring back another time to see if they were then available.
I asked when they thought they would be in but they couldn't give me any estimate of when only I need to keep trying.
Not very helpful or professional Customer Care. Seems like the early L1 days are back again when you could only buy 1 sensor at a time and they had very lo stock levels.
I think it is time to investigate an alternative, any suggestions anyone.

Now my pref is to use the reader for the alarming but I do mirror it on my phone so I can dump the reader completely and only use my phone for the alarms and set ups.

Am i the only one who uses the Libre 2 reader, does everyone else use their phone for all the L2 readings, alarms and sensor setup.

Thanks

I don’t know why they’re still out of stock, unless they’re not bothering to make any more with the rollout of the Libre 3 coming. I only use my reader, not a phone, because I don’t want to carry my phone when I’m on a horse, and if I'm gardening it’s easier to slip the reader into a small pocket than my phone.

Thanks @Robin I've rung them again and spoke to their Customer care people who said all the details are on the web site.
On the web site it lets you order a replacement FOC but says it may take up to 14 days for delivery so I ordered one.

I was told by my Consultant that my prescription would be upgraded to Libre 2 back in Jun but that it might take some time to be processed. In July I followed the guidelines to apply for a Libre 2 reader online. It is November and I still haven't received it and when I was on the phone to customer services regarding a failed sensor, I mentioned this and they said a Libre 2 reader would not be issued until my prescription changed which thankfully it hasn't yet but when it does, I have no other means of scanning Libre 2 sensors as my phone isn't compatible.
It does seem that there is a shortage of Libre 2 readers for some reason and they are being cagey about issuing them. I'm quite happy to continue with Libre 1 to be honest but I don't like the uncertainty of possibly being left high and dry when my prescription changes.

I like to carry as little as possible - I do not have a botttom-less handbag. I prefer to shove keys, credit card, phone and dextrose in my coat pocket.
So, I just use my phone as I always have it with me because it controls my pump too. I do have a Libre reader as a backup but it has only been used a couple of times,

Well as I don't want to waste my sensor mid use I'll wait until this sensor ends then start it on my Android phone and follow your route @helli.

It wouldn't be wasted, you can still add your phone now just obviously the alarms will only alert on the reader xx

You will note the reason in the small print on the back of your reader. It’s made in China, so there’s a container between here and there full of them waiting for a port to land them in. It’s another side effect of Brexit, there aren’t enough drivers to clear the imports. The same will happen with Libre 3. The sensors are made in Ireland.

That said, there are supply chain problems due to Covid to a degree, in far off lands.

I use the reader for alarms because it fits into my PJ top pocket, and doesn’t fall out. And it wakes me up with its buzzing.
