Libre 2+ and Apple watch

Hi, I’m so sorry if this has been asked before but my husband who is Diabetic2 is driving me nuts.
He has a Libre 2+ and an Apple Watch. When his sensor sounds the alarm for being too low, if he is wearing his watch but is not necessarily near his phone, the alarm doesn’t sound. It vibrates really quickly but that’s it. What he would like to do is disconnect his Apple Watch from the sensor, so it just alerts him on his phone. But we don’t know how to.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to disconnect the watch please?
Thanking you in advance.

I don’t have an Apple Watch unfortunately. I assume it’s not running a special app (or you would probably have deleted that already!).

Is it connected to notifications? Is the Apple Watch mirroring notifications that his iPhone is sounding? Connecting watches and CGM sensors often seem to involve downloading multiple apps to connect the technology!

Might it be worth calling the Abbott Helpline and asking their advice?

Can't help I'm afraid as I have android combo - @Lucyr uses an Apple watch and may be able to help?

Yes most folks on the forum with Apple Watch seem to use Dexcom, and for Libre it’s more often Android watches from what I can gather.

On the iPhone:

Search for and open the watch app

Press notifications

Then scroll down to where it says mirror alerts from iphone

Press libre link so it is not green

Now your phone will sound for libre alarms

Yeah so for info, if you use libre and have an Apple Watch, all notifications only come through on the watch at first, the phone doesn’t make a sound even if volume is on.

Sometimes I like it, it’s very discreet, other times I’d rather it was just on the phone then I have more options - turn volume off if I want vibrate only, bg focused mode if I want everything silent but noise for diabetes, or sound on if I want everything to make noise (never).

Only recently discovered you can just unlink whatever notifications you want from coming through to the watch, reduce your distractions. I have my bg on my watchface anyway through glucowatch so unlinking them works well for me.

That sounds like just what the OP needs to do? If you unlink the notifications on the watch, does the phone start being as loud ans you want it again?

How do you adjust which notifications sound on the watch?

I’ve given them step by step instructions in the post above. Just realised you / others might want the context afterwards.

Ah sorry! The notification just took me to your second post, and skipped past the earlier post with all the helpful information in it! o_O:rofl:

I am so sorry for not replying sooner. It’s been a busy few days. I’m not sure how he did it but he managed to disconnect the watch from his libre app. Thank you all so much for your help.

Hi Lucy

Sorry to hijack the thread. Is it quite simple to get the BG readings on the watch face?

I have an iPhone and an Apple Watch which I have just got in the hope that I can get BG readings on it.

Sorry slow response, took a weeks break from the forum. Yes just follow yourself on LibreLinkUp (eg with a second email address), download gluco watch and put the follower details in then set up the watch face to add it as a complication. I use the modular watch face. I know you’ve now figured it out just answering for any lurkers.
