For some comments I am placing the sensor on the right area on the back of my arm, I joined this as I thought it was to help others with the same condition as each other not to be criticised and made out to be stupid seriously considering leaving the group
Welcome to the forum. We do all try to help and support as much as we can. The back of the arm is the recommended place for application and i've never tried it anywhere else. Use the alcohol wipes and make sure your arm is dry and as others have said, after it has been applied try and hold it in place (i hold mine for about 30 seconds before gently jiggling to get the applicator off. If the adhesive starts to lift after a few days or towards the end of its life, i use a Tegaderm plaster to put over it. It keeps it in place until the sensor runs out.
Any faulty sensors or ones that drop off before the 14 days report to Abbott. They are good about replacing and if they ask you to return it, they send you everything you need to do so.
As i've said, welcome to the forum @JULIE's. Ask any questions you need to, no question is silly and there will always be someone who can answer or point you in the right direction.

hank you @freesia

Skintac can also be useful to help with sensor sticking. You apply it before the sensor. I also second the suggestions of making sure youre not moisturising the arm first or using some kind of moisturising shower gel, and that you’re fully letting your arm dry before applying

Hi @Julie’s , I hope you stick around as there is loads of experience to tap into.

I am another tegaderm user over sensors. Having lost a couple due to ‘meeting’ the door frame as I walked through, I then put the tegaderm over. I was advised in here to leave a small hole in The centre before applying it To match the centre of the sensor. As I was swim regularly and like a good soak in the bath, it gives me the confidence that it will stay put. There are lots of different alternatives such as onsite, IV100, …. Well worth the cost for the benefits the sensor gives you.

Hi @Pattidevans , can I ask about Opsite? What do you use? I’ve not heard of this before (just had a quick google). I’m really keen to get back to swimming regularly and wondering if this might work for me. I see there’s a spray and coverings. I’ve tried tagaderm but I have a reaction to this ...very itchy red patch.

Sorry to jump on your thread @Julie’s
@Lisa66 This is what I use https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233458337289 I just then cut it into circles using a cup to draw around. I first cover the actual sensor with a thin bit of card before applying the Opsite. Then if the Opsite does start to peel I can pull it off without pulling the sensor out.

I’ve had:
1 bleeder in 18 months (and it worked fine)
1 that stuck for 10 minutes (that hot spell last year)
1 that just never worked after going on

I think that’s pretty good going.

This lastest one, was a bit odd putting it on, the applicator got stuck on the sensor and it was right tug to pull it off, my husband had to do it as it was on my right arm. Again works fine. And all looked normal put the box
