The Administrative Manager of Pervocate, a diabetes testing and awareness center in Monrovia has admonished Liberians not to consider the symptoms of diabetes as 'witchcraft'.
Agnes Johnson says diabetes, which is simply an increase of sugar level in the body, has become a global health issue that affects more than 3.3 million people in West Africa, according to the World Health Organization estimate.
In a release, she explained that since the opening of the diabetes testing and awareness center in the country, data collected thus far has shown that diabetes is a serious health issue amongst most Liberians.
