Just been to Boots to get my prescription. They only had one box of cartridges but managed to find one other in another branch which they are getting for me. They tried to order more but the reply came back that there was none available due to a shortage at the factory!! No knowledge about when they can order more - or even if they can.
Current situation as of now is that none in any branches in Maidstone . Don't know if it is Boots specific, local, regional or national.

Any advice for anyone who may not be able to get any - and which long acting works similarly with split doses will probably be welcomed.

Guessing we might have to tell Drs want we need instead.

I use Levemir pens, and didn’t have a problem with my recent order of two boxes of pens. There isn’t another long acting insulin that works like Levemir on split doses. I’d try and wing it till they sort themselves out, I can’t imagine it will be long. I don’t live in Englandshire mind.

Before you are desperate, check with Boots what the situation is and if it's unchanged - ring Novo Nordisk to discover what's going on, before asking the GP. If Novorapid pump cartridges had a problem, then I'd absolutely need to know how long this would last as my pump doesn't take anything else and it's OK changing back to MDI for a few days but not for weeks on end! So - I would expect my clinic to help me, and Roche too!

Boots! I have had all sorts of problems with them, with regard to trouble getting medication! I have lost count how many times I have been told it is down to " problems at the factory !" Our pharmacist is great though and unfailingly honest: He puts it down to incompetence in the Boots management! There was a documentary recently on it, on the BBC I think. ( I will look, it may be on I player still. ) Our pharmacist said the documentary did not go far enough though and he claims things are worse than it shows! 😱

Here it is: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b09m6rfl/sign/inside-out-30-boots-pharmacists-under-pressure#
Sorry I do not know how to make that link tidy on this forum. 😳
