I’ve been on Levemir insulin since June 18.

Recently tho every time I inject it is stinging, it is stinging from the time I start injecting until I’ve finished.

Is that normal? Should I be contacting my DNS about?

Any help and advice welcome. Thanks all

Are you using the insulin at room temp?

Yes, I am. I can’t do cold insulin straight from the fridge .

When I first started injecting Levemir never had any issue with it.

I'd say Yes, contact your DNS because stinging isn't a feature I've heard about with Levemir whereas a lot of folk find Lantus stings.

It may be your injection sites going a bit lumpy Nadia so your nurse needs to check them all, properly for you.

Do you use the same needles you use for bolus insulin, and how long have you used that brand/size?

I use fresh needles every time I inject. Whether that’s with the NovoRapid insulin or Levemir.

I inject my NovoRapid in my abdomen, and the Levemir in my thighs. I also alternate the injections sites with both injections.

I’ve been debating trying to inject in my upper arms, but am a little apprehensive about that.

mmmm - I have no fat left on my outer thighs due to injecting in them for years - try nearer the front of them very slightly on the 'inside' if you've been using the 'outer' ?

What size needles ru using. I occasionaly get stinging from my Humilin when i inject in the thigh. But i get a lot less trouble with the 4mm needles i have now. Could be ypu are getting close to a muscle or vein.

I’m using 4mm size needles. Never had any issues with the needles.

Maybe it’s just the spot I’m injecting in. I’ve got a TickleFlex to help me inject.

Injected last night in my thigh for the Levemir, and luckily it wasn’t stinging.

So maybe I just need to assume it was location of injection and nothing more.
