WITH the light pouring in from the glazed roof and the stone floor stretching ahead, the stage is almost set for the first patients to walk in to the new Southmead Hospital.
Little will change in the main concourse area between now and May, when the new ?430 million Brunel Building opens to the first patients.
Stone tiles have been laid, trees have been planted and cladding has gone on the staircases.
The multi-faith centre, with its coloured glass panels, has taken shape, while in the clinical areas an MRI scanner has been installed, along with the pendants equipment will hang from in the new operating theatres.
