I saw this & felt a bit better about how boring I am with food, eating practically the same thing every day ...

ABSTRACT

Background
Many studies have shown that food variety—the presence of multiple foods and/or sensory characteristics within and across meals—increases intake. However, studies report mixed findings, and effect size remains unclear.

...

Conclusions
Our findings support the conclusion that variety is a robust driver of food intake. However, risk of bias was high across studies, and this review highlights methodologic limitations of studies. It is recommended that further attention is given to the development of preregistered, well-powered randomized controlled studies in eating behavior research.

I think everybody likes to eat what they know and like. I eat the same way everyday too. I read somewhere once about the starving Irish that went hungry when the potatoes went awry but the loughs were full of fish that didn't get eaten. Maybe the Irish would have got shot or worse if they had taken the fish I'm thinking? 🙄

I imagine they would face transportation as I cannot imagine the law being less harsh than in Britain

That starved because the English didn’t supply them with the surplus of wheat that was around at the time. This was deliberate. With that, and the Highland clearances the English were trying to rid themselves of the rebellious neighbours permanently. Celts bear a grudge forever. My forbears came over from County Mayo, but I’m not Irish enough to get an Irish passport, more’s the pity.

That's interesting. What qualifies a person for an Irish passport? I've never even been to Ireland. Got nobody there anyways, Dad was an orphan sans birth certificate, dunno even where he was from. Very frustrating. I like to know things!

I have both Irish and Scots forbears I think, and both of those hate the English part of me. Being mixed race is a pain, I don't know who to root for when watching the films. rofl.gif
