Well i finally managed to see the specialist about the Charcot in my ankle and he seems to think that the bone is healing - phew. the other doctor who told me the bone was dying seemed to be some junior doctor with no experience of Charcot or diabetes related problems (numbness etc). so thats a weight of my mind. my leg is weak and i'm still in the cast, i'm not sure how long for :( he said i should try and wean myself of it in the house 🙂

the only thing is now i seem to have a couple of things on my leg, i'm not sure if they are insect bites or the start of ulcers :( i'm seeing the podiatrist tomorrow so will ask her 🙂

That's great news, I do hope the specialist is correct and the bone is healing Simon! 🙂 I hope that the bites/ulcers can be treated quickly - let us know how you go on 🙂

attempting to add the photos of my leg to this post 🙂 i dont think there is anything majorly wrong with them...!

Northerner - i hope so too, i don't much fancy the amputation route 😉

As you say, there's something going on there, but getting them checked out is the best thing to do. How are your blood sugar levels these days?

Glad the leg bones are healing.

Do get the marks on your legs looked at. I sometimes get something similar and they are sorted out with a little antiseptic cream, but if you have never had them before do get them checke. They are probably just patches of dry skin, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

Northerner - its still too high - i tested a few days ago and got 11. having another appointment with the nurse soon so hopefully they will sort me out.

Caroline - i hope so, i was worried my cast had been rubbing, i'll show it to them tomorrow :D

Glad to hear leg is healing you must be so relieved.
