Hi all,
I have now been using a pump for about 2 months and all is going well, with just a few little hick- ups here and there. I already love it and will never give it back!!!
I have however just changed the battery for the second time only to find it had leaked:confused: The base of the battery is all rusted and crusty looking, it looks like its been like that for some time, the pump still seem to be working but I can see the inside area where the battery goes has been affected. I used the batteries that my nurse gave me Energizer lithium AA so at least I know it was the right one. I will phone Animas tomorrow and my Diabetic nurse, I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this? Will they replace it  I am really worried.
Thank you as always for your help and advice, I hope one day I will be in the position to help others out there.🙂

I would expect them to replace it without question if there is a possibility it might be compromised. Glad to hear you are so happy with it! 🙂

Sounds as if you have had water getting into the battery compartment. Are you sure you have tightened the cover properly. (read the manual so you get it right because if you over tighten will do harm as well)

I spoke to Animas today and I have to say they were excellent. I new pump will be arriving tomorrow🙂 I am so relieved.
I have just come back from a holiday and had it in water much more than normal even though it is ment to be waterproof. The battery cap was on tightly, as it was difficult to remove. I will be more gental with the new one just incase!
Thank you both for your help

sometimes if you tighten the cap slightly more than advised it makes a little crack and you get leaking into the battery area> If you have the vibe they had a problem a little while back of water getting into the battery casing
