Am thrilled to say my latest HbA1c result is 43. I can’t deny I was really worried as I have increased my carb intake as I really find it hard to find foods that I can tolerate. Don’t get me wrong I am still nowhere near eating what I used to but am so pleased with that. Have my review in a couple of weeks. I was told yesterday that I have no choice but to have the ‘big op’ for my mesh problem which they will postpone to after our holiday but will have to have a small procedure in the meantime to ‘see me through’ so to know my bg’s are in good order is another relief as I will need another big op six months after that and the better my bg’s are the better chance I will have of healing well. Am feeling all warm and fuzzy 🙂

And rightly so! You have every right to be proud of yourself. Well done Sue.
I hope both ops go smoothly and that you have a fab holiday in between..... where are you going?

Great news @SueEK - you should be very proud, especially in the light of everything else you are going through! 🙂

We are going to Tenerife, don’t know if you remember but we were supposed to be going to Majorca last year but my eldest grandson had a serious accident and had a fractured skull etc so we all had to cancel so this is the ‘replacement’ holiday which is why I asked them to postpone the op until after which they have very kindly agreed to do. Thanks for your kind words x

Sorry to hear of your grandson's accident.... I wasn't aware of it but hope he has recovered well.
My brother lives in Tenerife so it holds a special place in my heart although I would prefer it to be a little cooler for my comfort. Hope you have a wonderful time. Will it be your first visit to the island?

Yes but my daughter in law has been before and we are staying at the same hotel so have confidence that there will lots to do for all of us, we will be ranging in age from 6 to 70. How lovely that your brother lives there. Yes my grandson is well recovered but still doesn’t have all of his sense of smell or taste back but considering how bad he was everyone is thankful that this seems to be the only problem. He is doing his GCSEs this year so will be looking forward to the break very much.

Well done Sue a great result, have a great holiday. Yes I remember your dear Grandsons accident and so glad his recovery is going well although not perfect but progressive. Good luck with his GSE`s and hope your ops go well take care thinking of you. xx

Thanks Ted, holiday not until July and ops after that. Yes Jack is doing fine, so glad his personality wasn’t affected long term as he’s such a nice lad.
Was worried what HbA1c result would be as my readings are always in the 6/7s in the morning and upped the carbs but I think maybe my body has got used to my eating regime and coping with it, which is great.

That's really great news @SueEK , and a wonderful achievement, especially as you have had so many other things to cope with.
A holiday with family in the sunshine is a great way to celebrate.

Congratulations on a cracking HbA1c @SueEK 🙂

Great result.
