Just had my latest results back today and I am really pleased - 40. It has been a year now since I was diagnosed T2 (54 first result). It has taken a while to get my levels down by changing what I eat (No medication). The first 4/5 months I didnt seem to be getting anywhere, then after joining you wonderful guys (and gals) here on this forum I bought a home tester and at once I could see the changes I needed to make. I now follow a LCHF diet. Thanks for all the tips and advice - it has really helped! One concern was that my cholesterol level would go up as I am eating a lot of fat. It had gone up slightly, but it was the 'good' cholesterol that had increased. My GP wasn't too happy about me testing my BG levels at home, but I dont want my levels creeping back up un-noticed, so I will continue testing before and after my meals. 🙂

Well your GP is clearly a miserable git ! It is not the purpose of any of his patients to make him happy unless he takes any pleasure in his patients doing well and becoming healthier. Why doesn't he take any pleasure? Because he is a miserable git !!

I'm pleased for you anyway - so he can stew in his own juice. :D

That is fantastic news. .
I am now laughing my head off at @trophywench reply and I must say I agree with her .

Many congratulations on getting back into normal range. So pleased you found testing and LCHF worked for you. I hope you are enjoying your new eating regime, as that is also important.

I too agree with @trophywench ... She does have a wonderful way with words sometimes! GP should be delighted with your progress. Sometimes they get too tied up in "I know best" mentality and perhaps feel challenged if we go against their advice, even when good results follow.
Maybe you should send this Newspaper article to him...
