I felt as though last night was a bit mixed up and I didn't do things right ie I usually wait approx 3 - 4 hours very often 3 after I've had my tea to do my bedtime test then when I test and get the result if it's below 8mmol I need to get a bedtime snack etc....but last night during the evening I had a couple of cocktail cherries in an alcohol free gin (hubby offered me a 'proper' gin but I felt even though I wanted one I couldn't have one) so cocktail cherries would've had carbs in so I messed up there. Then a bit before the bedtime test I had tuna mixed with cherry tomatoes and mayo so again messed up. After I had done my bedtime test I had 1 bourbon cream - my test result was 6.8 so maybe I should've had a few more carbs. Waking this morning was 9.6.
Sometimes I would love to snack during the evening on something like a bag of crisps.
Teatime can be anything from 6pm ish to 7 or 7:30pm ish with the latter being 8pm ish when I finish eating which means that it's going to be about midnight when I can do my test to find out if my bgl is going to be below or above 8mmol.
Sorry for all the 'dribble' but if anyone can make sense of this and would like to point me in the right direction please do 🙂

I know life gets in the way of being able to do things consistently but until you get a better understanding on how you are reacting to various food/insulin regimes it might help to try to keep to some regular meal times then you would be testing at the same time each night.
A normal gin wouldn't have added any carbs so you could have had that if you had felt like it. The cocktail cherries and cherry tomatoes were the only carb you had until you had your biscuit.
