does anyone know if lantus comes in a bottle you can draw it out of reason i ask is that i want to have my insulin back and keep it at home instead of going to doctors every day

Hi Gail,

I hope things are going well with you, I don't look in here much these days so I'm out of touch with everyone! 😱.

When I used to have lantus I had it in a pen, so used a cartridge & just dialled up what I need. Probably best to havea chat with your GP & see if it's an option they'd consider?

Best wishes xx

Just checked BNF Gail and yes - it comes in vials as well as prefilled pens etc. So you could certainly administer it with a normal insulin syringe.

But I have to add, I'm afraid I don't see how that would be considered a better proposition (by those who make such decisions) than having a pen ?

Hi Gail, I would also suspect that having 1000u of insulin in a vial would be a complete no no for you. Due to your past history no GP who wishes to stay on the medical register would prescribe that amount in one go.
(((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))
