I normally take my lantus (BI) at 11:00pm or an hour or so either side. This is usually also my bedtime.
I take humalog (QA) at around 08:00pm ish when I have my evening meal.
I'm going to start taking my lantus earlier in the evening. Any votes on my new time please?

Gill, I'm wondering if (as has been suggested on your other thread) you would be better having your evening meal earlier so that your meal time insulin has fully expired before bed? This would give you a much better picture of your bedtime reading, as your levels seem to be dropping further as you sleep currently. Another option might be to take your lantus at the same time as your meal insulin so that any slight peak from it (which used to happen to me) has passed before you go to bed.

Hi Alan,

This is exactly what has been mentioned today by my family ie my meal times which are currently:
Breakfast - 10:00am - 11:00am
Lunch - between 03:30pm & 04:30pm
Tea - between 07:30pm & 08:30pm

Breakfast is really the main culrpit because I really couldn't eat anything at 08:00am - 09:00am.

Have you any suggestions please for time alterations?

I was going to start taking my lantus earlier in the evening but I thought you had to do it slowly by say an hour each night and not all in one go so to speak but having said that what do people do when they suddenly split their BI?

Test test test and adjust adjust adjust, until they get it right! That's what!

What are you trying to correct? - early morning hypos or what?
