If you're on a split dose of BI (lantus in my case) can you still do the same as when you're on a single dose ie:

decrease or increase doseages

alter times of when BI is taken

do daytime basal tests or nighttime basal tests

(I do know from my DSN that if wanted you can change back to a single dose but forgot to ask about any of the above)

If split BI is being decreased or increased how do you know whether it's the am dose or the pm dose to change?

Since my split I've taken my BI am dose with my breakfast QA basal. However this morning I'm not quite ready for breakfast maybe for another half hour or so. Is this ok or does it have to be taken at the same time.

You can take your basal at any time of the day - you just need to leave the same time gap between basal injections.
