Hello,

I am looking to buy a Contour Plus Blue Meter Kit from this site.

But they do not sell the Microlet Lancets it uses.

Does anyone know the FreeStyle Lancets that they do sell are compatible with the Contour Lancing Device?

It seems strange that they sell the meter and the strips without selling a compatible lance, so I am assuming they are compatible.

Thank you

I’ve always re-used lancets until they have become uncomfortable to use (there’s only me using the device so the risk of cross-contamination seemed low). There’s a running joke on the forum about people changing their lancets once a year on St Swithin’s Day, whether they need to or not :D

Generally the spares supplied with the fingerpricker seem to last as long as the device for me.

I’m not sure I’d be confident that lancets for a different device would be compatible without seeing them close-up. Each device seems to have a differently shaped slot for the lancets to fit into?

The Microlet lancets may be available at a high st pharmacy, or elsewhere online?

I just used a box of ‘true plus’ lances I bought from boots some years ago with my Contour Blue. Although I can’t remember the last time I changed it.

I’ve never once read of someone actually buying a box of lancets. It comes with a few that will last you years.

Not sure I’ve used any from the box.
I tipped the ones that came with it into the Contour pouch and they’re still there.

I have bought does of lancets, before I started using the Fast Clix, and even bought more cartridges for that as well.

It is more that the lancets should be compatible with the lancing device rather than the monitor. As mentioned lancets can be reused if just on yourself.
Anything that pricks your finger to produce the drop of blood the apply to the strip will do, even a pin or needle not that I'm suggesting you do that.
If I cut my finger, which I do regularly when doing my glass work, I have been known to grab the monitor and test.

Fully compliant St Swithin's Day club member here. :D There are usually 10 lancets in with test kits, so that should see you through 10 years of testing unless you start testing family and friends. Most lancets are near enough interchangeable from my experience. I had a lancing device break a few years ago and the new one took the same lancets, even though the device was different. Obviously the Fast Clix take cartridges, so they are specific to that lancing device.

thank you

Any lancing device will do, had numerous bg meters over many years & always used accu chek lancing device.

Last few years used Libre bg meter & strips but use Fastclix lancer, you can purchase lancets for them for around £6 for box of 204.

Most of the lancing devices have universal lancets but looking at the Microlet ones these might be different - I use the Accu-chek Fastclix system with the cartridges (have found it by far the best one I've tried)
