Interesting to read all of your varying experiences regarding libre... I live in Kent and having worked for a short time previously for East Kent nhs trust (which is in special measures and has been for some time) I kind of assume the local CCGs probably operate under similar financial restrictions. I know that with CCG status it is totally down to the GPs at each practice to decide what they will or will not prescribe as the budget is now completely in their hands.

From what I have read there is still a variation.

I work for the NHS and unfortunately there is prescribing variation between postcodes and specialities. My specialty is paediatric pharmacy and it shocks me on a daily basis that GPs will not prescribe medicines that are an absolute necessity for patients with the excuse that the drugs are not licensed or licensed in adults but not children or... that they just happen to be very expensive........ Mmmmm

It'll be interesting to see updated statistics on prescribing rates (if they're ever published, that is). I'm sure there's some continuing variation between CCGs!

Unfortunately I’m a total cynic... there will be no publishing of stats and if there is.... I think you know what I’m going to say next.... Soz!
