LADA, insulin and HGV’s

Hi all, my partner has been diagnosed with LADA and now requires insulin, his care team have told him that he will has his licence revoked for at least 3 months which is not ideal when we have a haulage company and he is the main Class 1 driver! Can anyone talk me through what happens now and it’s regards to licence and getting it back etc?

I can see from this article that the rules changed in 2011: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-rules-on-diabetes-for-bus-and-lorry-drivers

The 4 months of data is probably the reason for temporarily revoking the license.
