I have had a week of it with my tummy (largely caused by stress). Things seem to have settled down on that front but considering I haven't eaten much and managed to retain none of it I find myself now reluctant to eat. Even the smell of food cooking makes me feel sick.

I'm sure things will improve but I am sacred of eating too much in case my tummy goes out again. I am keeping up fluids (tea, water, soft drinks)

Not sure there is a solution but I needed to share.

Hope things improve for you soon.

My stomach seems to be protesting a lot too recently. Making some very strange noises indeed :/

I've been feeling the opposite though, where I'm hungry all the time.

Sometimes, it feels like a never ending battle!

Sorry to hear this Caroline, but youre doing the right thing with the fluids. When I get digestive problems that make it difficult to eat (I just cant force my self to do it, a sandwich can take me an hour to eat) I revert to liquid meals - soups, mainly. Half a tin of soup, watered down, served in a cup. Can be sipped slowly over time (reheated if needed), and will give you some vital vitamins/etc.
Hope you feel better soon and are back to eating!

Thanks everyone. Because my son was worried, it is not normal for me to not want to eat or feel hungry., he called the GP who came in today. Anyway he said don't worry about not eating the appetite will come back.

Caroline, these tum upsets are not nice are they. I hope you feel able to eat a little something soon.
Could you manage a little bit of a biscuit such as rich tea.

Sorry to hear that you have been having a hard time...... I remember (a couple of years ago) having to cook the Christmas Turkey whilst suffering a bout of gastroenteritis..... Basting the damn bird just about killed me, lucky our house has 2 potties.....

I have been having lightly buttered crumpets and the odd slice of toast with jam on it but haven't managed too much else

Thanks for support everyone, I'm sure things will settle in their own good time. I do have a bit of peace and quiet for a while as everyone else has gone out. I'm hoping time to relax and do a bit of meditation will help ease things a bit.

I'm glad you are managing to eat a little , hope you're not losing too much weight.

It is a little, and everyone says my appetite will return. I'm not pushing things
