A consignment of insulin worth millions of shillings donated by the International Diabetes Federation has been detained at the airport since December last year due to non payment of processing fee.
Representatives of the Brussels-based IDF and the Diabetes Kenya Association have expressed frustration at the delay, which they say will lead to loss of innocent lives.
The Kenya Revenue Authority is demanding Sh600,000 duty before it can release the consignment donated to Kenyatta National Hospital for 250 diabetic children.
