I recently had a kidney and bladder scan because my consultant was unhappy with my Egfr figure, and referred me for a biopsy which I had on 15th July. I have problems with swollen feet and big temperature changes, i.e. hot one minute and then cold. The result of the biopsy was that I have been diagnosed with Diabetic Nephropathy and have been prescribed two new medications, and told to stop taking Amlodipine. I would be interested in hearing from anyone else with this condition, and how they cope with it. Thank you.

Hi. My wife has Stage 5 CKD not thru diabetes but her consultant believes some of the meds she has taken over the years including Ibuprofen and Asacol may be the cause. I would check the leaflets for all of your meds and Google them if necessary to see whether any can cause kidney damage in addition to high BS. Most of us don't realise that many meds do cause kidney damage including NSAIDs
