Kickin myself right now....

Woke up this morning, was 5.1, had breakfast, two hours after was 7.2.

Pre lunch was 7.9, had brown roll with light butter with light cheese light mayo and lettuce, tomato and onion with a glass of skimmed milk.

Didnt test after lunch as had to go straight to my mams house.

An hour ago started to feel thirsty and lips were getting dry, tested myself and i was 23.4. 😱

Then.....not til then.... did i realise i had forgotten to take my lunchtime insulin. Not like me at all. But suppose these things happen now and again.

Kicking myself as i have been so good lately trying to get my sugars down. ahhhh :(

Don't fret: you soon realized what was happening, and can compensate. One spike won't do any long-term damage. Chin up!

Don't worry about this blip.....your other BGs were brilliant

Thanks guys. Trying to get my sugars down and any high i freak out about now. I was 10.4 down to 8.5 within 3 months and that was 2 months ago. But thinking of pregnancy by next year all going well, so trying to watch everything.

Thanks for your replies.

Noelle x.

Do you know what you adjustment dose is - so that you can use that when you have your evening meal.

I forgot my insulin pen once when working - fortunately I was still in the honeymoon period and whilst I went high - it wasn't very high.

This is where an indicator on your pen as to when you last injected would come in useful.

Don't worry, I think we have all done that. I have and the bs, like yours, shot through the roof. Silly Billy 😉 Sheena x

We all forget our medication sometimes. One blip wont do any harm, and next time you go to your mums, I'm sure she wont mind if you delay a little to do things necessary for your health.

Yes, did my adjustment dose at tea time. Was down to 11.2 after an hour and half. Had some rice and chicken, was 8.4 going to bed. Didnt take anymore insulin as knew it was still going down.
Did a 3am check and it was 7.9.
This morning was 6.6.
Thank god.
Thanks everyone.
