It is my nephews 16th birthday bash tonight and KFC is on the menu (I'm sat licking my lips already).

However the question is do I or don't I? I know it is terribly fatty (deep fried) and not really the best food to eat - I used to love it now and again before I was diagnosed and not eaten it since. Not sure what I should inject insulin wise either ??

Am I a good girl today - or naughty? :D

Di id never advocate eating kfc or any other fast food outlests, but you deserve a treat big or little after all you have been through lately, i would go for it hun. x

Hey Steffie, That is exactly what I was thinking.

The thing that worries me most about eating fast food / junk is the effect it will have on me after eating - I went to an indian with work earlier in the year and after I ate it I was sick - think it was from the rich fat (gee in it). Will greasy KFC have the same effect??

Oh the thought of eating it is making me hungrey now 😛

Go for it.

Just make sure that you drink plenty of red wine afterwards to break down the fat!

Or champaign love it even more ....mmm mmm mmm

Di, if you haven't had it since your diagnosis I wouldn't go overboard with it - try to get lots of 'healthy' stuff too (if they do that sort of thing!). I have found that foods like that that I used to enjoy I no longer enjoy after the first couple of mouthfuls - my tastes have changed so much. Maybe nick someone else's to decide before you get your own?

Whatever you do, enjoy it! Hope I didn't put a dampener on it!

Hi northy, I know what you mean re the taste, that's what I'm worried about! Having the taste of fat and also then suffering the next day from salt overload.

Lots of bargain buckets at myw mother in laws - she has said she will have some brown bread and roast turkey on standby for me.

Ps hope you had a great holiday
