I would be interested to know if there are any Type 2 nurses etc still going in to their work.

I'm not a nurse but a key worker as I work in a supermarket. I'm going to work.

I'm a nursing care assistant in a Nursing home.

I worked until we had our first confirmed case of Covo, and haven't worked since.. Sorry with my job there is no such thing as Social Distancing either from residents or if you working with a colleague.

It is a bit of a bone of contention, as I will not be paid nor get sick pay, which I was a bit miffed about as the company as rescinded what they at first said..

Management called a meeting to inform us, what plans had been made to enable us to get through this pandemic

All staff who were being shielded by government were being sent home or being asked not to come in, these members would be receive full pay.

If we got a confirmed Covo case, all high risk staff (manager looked at me and said that included diabetics) would be sent home or told not to come in. and they would then get full pay

Staff who found themselves having to isolate etc would receive full pay.

Prior to this meeting we had to answer a questionier depicting any underlying medical conditions, did any of our households have underlying health issues, good we work over time etc etc. Which I'd filled out with mine and hubby's

As I said, I worked until we had a confirmed case, but I wasn't told didn't find out until I went in on duty to find isolation practices had been put in place around the home. I did say I shouldn't be here due what had been said, my manager wasn't happy that I was heading home at all.

Saying that I wasn't on the shielded or high risk register! I know i'm on the high risk register, got iffy with me, and since been told that I won't be getting paid anything not even SSP due to not actually Sick, just safe guarding myself as best I can. Unless I can proof from gp..

GP surgery is hopeless they just send you to the 111 website, not doing sick notes for Covo etc, so I emailed my pump nurse at the hospital Clinic, she explained that guidance about working, and that Public Health England says though at higher risk should stringently follow social distance guidance if that is not possible they are strongly advised not to work.

I spoke with my manager last week, and sent her a couple of the email from my diabetic nurse (hospital team) after she said it had to be something with diabetic team/hospital heading, something that I copied off the internet wouldn't do! So I've sent it but haven't heard anything back...

But if i have to lose money so be it, but what was even sadder in many ways, she said that it had been brought to her attention by several of the staff that I had been posting on facebook that I've been out and about! I haven't nor have I posted on facebook, with the exception of a memory that popped up, photographs taken last year!

I think you may be able to take this further if they sent you home, they sent you home you did not say you were not coming in . You ma6 wish to tell them that you taking a look at the disability at work act.

this is how l see it.

@prs853
They didn't actually send me home, in theory if they had abided by what was said at the meeting on the morning of 23rd March they should have phoned me as soon as they got the confirmation that a resident who been sent into hospital was positive to say not to come in... But of cause they then decided to change their minds, to who sat on what list!

Nice to see you posting again @Ellie Jones

Though very sorry to hear of the situation with your work :(
