Former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish clapped for the NHS carers that treated him in hospital, but Leeds great Norman Hunter remains “severely unwell” with Covid-19.

Dalglish was released from hospital last weekend after being found to have coronavirus despite not showing any symptoms, having been admitted for treatment on gallstones.

The Scot, 69, was videoed on his doorstep at 8pm on Thursday night clapping carers alongside his family.

Former defender Hunter is still in hospital, having been admitted last week.

Have just heard that Norman Hunter has died :( He was a great character in my 'local' team Leeds who were winning everything in the early '70s, and nicknamed 'bite yer legs' because of his aggressive tackling 😱 He played alongside 'Sniffer' Clarke and Jack 'The Giraffe' Charlton - don't footballers have nicknames any more? 😱 🙂

Heard about it on radio, part of squad in 66 but was on bench in final, sad when these football greats pass.

I know, Norman can no longer bite yer legs. Sad.

RIP Norman.
