FOR brave 12-year-old Katie Pole, life is somewhat different from other children her age.
She suffers from Type 1 diabetes and has to wear a pump at all times with a cannula under her skin, which gives her a dose of insulin every three minutes.
The Holy Trinity CofE Secondary School pupil also has to prick her finger to draw blood between eight and ten times a day to check her blood sugar level.
"It used to sting every time I was injected but I have grown used to it now," Katie explained.
